Purpose

The aim of the Symposium is to provide a forum where participants can discuss microanalysis and imaging, with emphasis on applications, practical solutions, and recent advancements in techniques.

Contributions

We strongly encourage you to present recent work using microscopy, microanalytical and microdiffraction techniques. The success of the meeting is entirely dependent on the quality (and quantity) of presentations.

Themes for special sessions in this symposium include:

  • 51st anniversary of the Conference on Soft X-ray Band Spectra and the Electronic Structure of Metals and Materials, held at the University of Strathclyde, 1967
  • Microanalysis in planetary science
  • Advances in transmission electron microscopy and related spectroscopies
  • Cathodoluminescence spectroscopy and imaging
