The Department of Home Affairs has dedicated Business, Industry and Outreach (BIRO) officers to engage with employers, industry groups and other relevant stakeholders to provide information and promote the Skilled migration program and the Global Talent Visa Program.

The Skilled migration program is designed to attract migrants who make a significant contribution to the Australian economy, and fill positions where no Australian workers are available. The Global Talent Visa Program, also known as the Global Talent Independent (GTI) Program, is a streamlined visa pathway for exceptional and globally talented professionals across Agri-food and AgTech; Energy; Health Industries; Defence, Advanced Manufacturing and Space; Circular Economy; DigiTech; Infrastructure and Tourism; Financial Services and FinTech; and Education; to work and live permanently in Australia.

Servet Brennan and Jessica Chau are the Business Industry Regional Outreach officers for NSW and ACT and will be presenting an information session to Science and Technology Australia members to provide information and support to businesses in relation to the Skilled migration and Global Talent Visa Programs.
