SUMMARY:ANZG Water Quality Guidelines Workshop
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n Event website \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n	\n SETAC-AU will be hosting a national series of workshops featuring key authors of the Australian and New Zealand Governments Guidelines for Fresh and Marine Water Quality (ANZG 2018\, http://www.waterquality.gov.au/anz-guidelines). \nThe first workshop will be sponsored by Sydney Water and will be held on 3rd April 2019 from 9 am – 5 pm. This full-day workshop will focus on educating stakeholders on the recently released ANZG Water Quality Guidelines. \nThe presenters will provide details of the key features of the revised Guidelines\, and help attendees understand how the Guidelines can be used for best-practice water management. Key topics will include (but not be limited to) the use of the national water quality management framework\, using weight of evidence for water/sediment quality assessment\, deriving and applying default guideline values\, a case study\, and a tour of the new website. \nThese workshops will be important capacity building exercises that will benefit all water managers and water regulators. \n	\n \n	\n\n\n	\n	\n

SUMMARY:Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Conference
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n Event website \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n	\n The 3-day program will feature a number of overseas plenary presentations\, society speciality lectures\, poster sessions\, 3-minute poster presentations and an E/MCR mini-symposium are also planned. The scientific program of the conference will include the themes: \n\nGene Editing\nRNA Biology\nDrug Discovery\n\nConfirmed plenary speakers include Lingling Chen and Tom Blundell. \nLingling Chen is a molecular and RNA biologist from the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (CAS)\, China. She developed methods for the genome-wide discovery and characterization of nonpolyadenylated RNAs\, which led to the identification of sno-processed lncRNAs and circular RNAs. She also showed that some sno-processed lncRNAs are conspicuously absent in people with the neurodevelopmental genetic disorder Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). \nTom Blundell is a biochemist and structural biologist from the University of Cambridge in the UK. He was a member of the team that solved the first structure of a protein hormone\, insulin and has since made contributions to structural biology of polypeptide hormones\, growth factors\, receptor activation\, signal transduction and DNA double-strand break repair. He has been involved in drug discovery with many drugs moved to clinical trials. He has developed software for protein modelling and understanding the effects of mutations on protein function\, leading to new approaches to structure-guided and fragment-based lead discovery. \n	\n \n	\n\n\n	\n	\n

SUMMARY:2019 Australasian Neuroscience Society Conference
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n	\n	\n \n \n \n Event website \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n	\n The Australian Neuroscience Society is excited to announce that the 2019 conference will be held in Adelaide\, at the Adelaide Convention Centre from the 2-5 December 2019. \nThe Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian Neuroscience Society is one of the largest annual biomedical conferences held in the Australasian region. \nWe are looking forward to what will be our best conference yet and we hope to welcome you to Adelaide. \nIn 2017 the conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Terrigal on the Central Coast of NSW (an hour north of Sydney) from Sunday 17th to Wednesday 20th September\, 2017. \nYou will know you’re in Terrigal when you see the striking row of Norfolk Island pines that line the beachfront esplanade. While the 4km beach at Terrigal has a reputation as a world-class surfing spot\, delegates might be more inclined to quietly enjoy the beautiful location on Broken Head where people have been holidaying since the late 1800s. On the Central Coast you may also consider visiting the Australian Reptile Park – a hands-on zoo located in a natural bush setting with reptiles from around the world and a wide variety of Australian native animals. \n	\n \n	\n\n\n	\n	\n
