Anna Barwick
Telehealth PharmacistUniversity of New England
Imagine a world where your location didn't adversely affect your health outcomes. For Australians living in a rural or regional area, life expectancy and quality of life is lower than their city counterparts. Anna Barwick is passionate about improving the health of all Australians through education, advice and advocacy, no matter where they live.
Anna is currently working on her PhD in telepharmacy at the University of Queensland and is a part-time Lecturer in the School of Rural Medicine at the University of New England. Anna holds a Master of Clinical Pharmacy, is a practising consultant pharmacist, diabetes educator, researcher, trainer & assessor, and pharmacist immuniser. Anna was the PSA 2021 NSW Pharmacist of the Year and 2021 UTS Innovative Pharmacist of the Year. Anna is focussed on supporting other leaders and innovators in rural Australia.
Anna’s vision is to put a pharmacist into every household in the country, 24 hours a day, whenever people need help. Anna founded PharmOnline to connect people with experienced pharmacists to discuss their medication and health goals. PharmOnline, the first pharmacist-led telehealth service in Australia, is particularly valuable to people that are isolated or are unable to easily access their local health services.
Anna Barwick is a Superstar of STEM.
