
Anne Kelso
Anne has a BSc(Hons) and PhD in immunology, Department of Microbiology from the University of Melbourne. She has completed a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology at the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research.
Anne spent 10 years at WEHI, first as a postdoc and later as a Senior Research Fellow with her own group in cellular and molecular immunology. She was a Principal Research Fellow then Senior Principal Research Fellow at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.
Anne was Director/CEO, at the Cooperative Research Centre for Vaccine Technology, based at Queensland Institute of Medical Research, before moving on to being Director at WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza, based at Melbourne Health and a founding centre in the Peter Doherty institute for Infection and Immunity.
Anne was an Honorary Professorial Fellow in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne/Doherty Institute, with a small research group in NHMRC Program on influenza.
Anne is currently the CEO of the National Health and Medical Research Council in Canberra. She has broad experience in the Australian health and medical research sector through professional societies, ARC and NHMRC committees, membership of governing boards and advisory committees (universities, medical research institutes, biotech companies, Commonwealth and Victorian Government)
Anne has also experienced International engagement through professional societies, WHO committees and (at NHMRC) partnerships with international funding agencies.
