Carly Irving is the General Manager of Customer and Market Operations which forms part of the Executive Management Team at Energy Queensland. Prior to this appointment, Carly was the Executive General Manager Customer for Energex from 2016 to May 2017. Carly has over 25 years’ experience working in a variety of senior leadership and customer focused management positions and these include General Management, Human Resource Management, Business Operations and Managing Director of her own consulting business.
Carly’s strong values and demonstrated behaviours of honesty and integrity have recently been recognised as she was a QLD finalist in the Telstra Business Women of the Year 2019 Awards for her work challenging the traditional way we do things, in particular rebalancing the power and gender dynamics. Carly has an enormous passion for advocating for women in today’s workforce and is the executive sponsor for Energy Queensland’s “Championing Women’s” network.
Carly is a highly accomplished visionary executive with experience in corporate business operations, strategic planning, project management, logistics, acquisitions and mergers, OHS, contact centres, customer experience and IPO’s with both start up and growth organisations. Carly is results driven, a decisive situational leader with proven success in these areas, always ensuring sustainable business results, while maintaining the safety and wellness of her people.
Outside of work Carly is a mother to two beautiful adult women and has recently become a Grandma to a little baby boy. Carly enjoys the outdoors and tries to get away glamping and fishing and being with her family at any opportunity.
