Kaya! My name is Jasmin Diab. I am the Managing Director of Global Nuclear Security Partners a start-up venture in nuclear security and safeguards management consultancy. But really, I am a huge nuclear science and engineering nerd, as well as a mum and military veteran.

Nuclear technologies often get a bad rap due to pop culture depictions (does a radioactive spider ring a bell?), non-peaceful uses (atomic weapons) and historical events and accidents. However, peaceful nuclear technologies affect our everyday lives no matter who you are or where you live. Everything from diagnosing broken bones, treating cancers, supporting global food security programs, providing light and heat via the sun as well as providing clean power and energy across the world and into outer space and so much more. I love being able to discuss how atoms interact to create all these amazing technologies whilst also drawing awareness to ionising radiation and how it interacts with us and our environment. Through increasing awareness in nuclear science and technology we can be more confident as a society in understanding how to safely and securely use nuclear technologies into the future harnessing its potential.
