STA welcomes new Australian Research Council CEO

judi_zielke

Science & Technology Australia congratulates Ms Judi Zielke PSM on her appointment today as the CEO of the Australian Research Council.

Ms Zielke became Acting CEO at the major research granting agency in February.

She has already shown a strong desire to engage the research sector as she considers the program of work requested by Acting Education Minister Stuart Robert in his Letter of Expectations last December.

Science & Technology Australia CEO Misha Schubert said:

“The STA community congratulates Judi Zielke on her appointment to this pivotal role for Australian research.”

“It is a complex leadership role that requires deep knowledge of the worlds of research, the public service and the Parliament.”

“Ms Zielke’s vast experience in these worlds and her clear desire to engage the research sector on key issues and test ideas before implementation will be strong assets in the time ahead.”

“We look forward to working with her and her team as she leads the agency into its next era.”

Science & Technology Australia President Professor Mark Hutchinson was appointed this week to serve on the expanded advisory committee to the ARC CEO.
