Manager

Aurecon

Pearl is a Digital Implementation Manager at Aurecon, an engineering design and advisory company. She is also a PhD Candidate in Built Environment at RMIT. Pearl’s PhD focuses on implementing agile ways of working in the management of physical assets.

Trained to be a chemical engineer, Pearl has undertaken an unconventional career path by joining IBM as a digital transformation consultant. She discovered that her solid knowledge base in STEM has enhanced her ability to think critically, connect the dots and drive innovation. Adopting those skills allowed her to help her architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) clients in their technology transformation journey. Pearl was awarded the IBM Manager’s Choice Award for two consecutive years and was also the recipient of the IBM Global Service Excellence Award.

Pearl also has a strong commitment towards youth development and community engagement. During her time in the University of Melbourne, Pearl was a president of Youth Charity Society. She has also volunteered for Engineers Without Borders, Spark Engineering Camp and Robogals. She was also the Event Coordinator for Lean In Melbourne. Pearl hopes to inspire the next generation of STEM practitioners to be exceptional leaders, especially females who are first-generation students or first-generation migrants.
