Over the past few years, Australians have seen anew how crucial science and technology are to our lives – and to the nation’s safety, prosperity and sovereign capability. Without science, we’d have been lost.

Leading into the 2022 federal election, STA invited parties and candidates to respond to the STA science and technology sector’s election priorities.

They were also invited to share a vision for science and technology as key capabilities for Australia’s economy, environment, and a healthy, safe and prosperous society.

STA approached major parties at a central level, rather than as individual candidates seat-by-seat. Independent and minor-party candidates were also offered the chance to respond.
