The Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) conducts globally competitive research and development in machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), computer vision and deep learning.

Established in 2018 as a joint initiative of the University of Adelaide and the South Australian government, AIML is home to more than 160 researchers, engineers, and students working at the forefront of AI and machine learning science.

AIML partners with global companies and startups to help them use AI to innovate their products and services, and works with government agencies to identity areas where AI can improve services.

AIML’s research and innovation impact is felt across a range of sectors, including: agriculture and food, construction and manufacturing, creative industries, defence, medicine and health, mining and resources, space, sustainability and the environment, and traffic and transport.
