Beaker Street is a not-for-profit organisation in lutruwita/Tasmania, with a core goal of
connecting the public with science and scientists. We strive to make science accessible to all by
creating a home for experimentation, collaboration, and open conversation, and exploring the
intersection of science and art. We aim to create an inclusive community that shares a sense of
wonder and curiosity about our world and to shine a spotlight on the pressing issues that affect
us all.
Our annual flagship Beaker Street Festival is a 10-day celebration of science and art,
introducing Australia’s most innovative and engaging thinkers and creators to the public. We
seek to bring in diverse adult audiences, inviting those who don’t typically engage with the
sciences — and those who do — to come together for shared experiences, meaningful
discussions, and opportunities to discover and create.
