Science & Technology Australia prepared a submission for the Digital Economy Strategy, which is being crafted by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.
The main aims of the Strategy are building on Australia’s competitive strengths, supporting the development of world leading digital businesses, and addressing the ‘digital divide’ in skills and confidence amongst Australians.
Our submission asserts that strong digital research infrastructure, a prosperous economic environment, and a workforce that is ready and able to participate in a changing digital landscape are vital components to robust Australian science and technology now and into the future.
The Consultation Paper published as part of the process outlined a number of specific questions about what Australia would need to do to thrive in a new digital age. STA consulted with relevant member organisations to prepare useful contributions to this conversation, and is grateful for all of the submissions made by members.
We look forward to seeing a strong Strategy that serves to solidify Australia place as a leader in the global Digital Economy.
