Science & Technology Australia is proud to announce the appointment of Brodie Steel as Project Officer for our new Superstars of STEM Program.
“Brodie’s passion and commitment to elevating the visibility of women in STEM, and her strong experience in project management, make her the perfect candidate to help Superstars of STEM soar,” said STA CEO, Kylie Walker.
“She stood out among a diverse, passionate and skilled field of men and women expressing support for gender equality in STEM and a genuine desire to tackle issues facing women in the sector.”
With more than 10 years experience in project and event management, Brodie has a strong track record in engaging marginalised communities, and has managed major events and education & tourism projects in Melbourne, Regional Victoria and overseas.
Formerly the Program & Community Engagement Coordinator for La Trobe University’s Tertiary Enabling Program, she played a key role in the program’s rapid growth, empowering students from challenging backgrounds to access and achieve success in tertiary education.
Brodie said: “I am excited about joining Science and Technology Australia to take on the challenge of driving the new Superstars of STEM program to be a catalyst for change for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.”
