Science & Technology Australia is thrilled to announce the diverse and brilliant science, technology, engineering and maths leaders elected to our Board.

With a deep commitment to advance science and technology in Australia, STA Board Directors play a crucial role in shaping federal policy settings and STA’s strategy and future.

Our six elected Board Directors were announced at STA’s AGM.

We welcome Dr Lila Landowski as a newly elected Director – and congratulate our five returning Directors on their re-election: Jas Chambers, Dr Jiao Jiao Li, Professor Christopher Matthews, Dr Kathy Nicholson, and Mark Stickells.

Professor Sharath Sriram began his Presidency of STA at the AGM and thanked outgoing President Mark Hutchinson for his superb Presidency.

The Board conveyed its deepest thanks to our immediate past Vice President, Associate Professor Anita Goh, for her ongoing leadership contribution to the STA community and outgoing Board Director, Dr Diana Zhang, for her advocacy for early career researchers.

The Board has appointed its new leadership team and committee chairs.

Our warmest congratulations to:

  • STA Vice-President: Jas Chambers
  • STA Governance Chair: Mark Stickells
  • STA Policy Chair: Dr Kathy Nicholson
  • STA Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee Co-Chair: Dr Jiao Jiao Li
  • STA Interim FAR Chair: Mark Stickells (to Feb 2023)
  • STA Bench-to-Boardroom initiative Co-Chairs: Prof Mark Hutchinson and Jas Chambers

Each of our stellar Board Directors bring deep expertise, experience and knowledge to STA.

Committee chairs will lead complex major pieces of work for the Science & Technology Australia community in the coming year.

We are so grateful for the thriving community of STEM leaders who generously contribute their inspiring leadership, time and talents to STA and the nation through their service on our Board.
