Engaging with Parliament in the time of COVID-19 | Webinar

Trends in Tech LinkedIn Post Header

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way do things.

This includes our engagement with Members of Parliament – whether they are our local member or a Minister and Shadow Minister. Parliament is sitting rarely, while MPs are being flooded with calls from their local constituents looking for help to access relief payments and visa extensions. How do you cut across all that is happening to not only meet with, but also stick in the mind of, a Parliamentarian especially when meeting face-to-face might be out of the question?

In this webinar, Science & Technology Australia will outline how to engage with your local Member of Parliament in an effective way during the current COVID-19 crisis. This will include:

  • How to get that first contact;
  • How to present well on the phone or through video conferencing;
  • Making sure they remember you when the conversation is over; and
  • How to build on that relationship when the pandemic is over.

Webinar will be led by Science & Technology Australia’s CEO, Misha Schubert & Policy & Projects Manager, Peter Derbyshire.

Duration: 45-60 mins via Zoom
Date: Thursday 28 May – 11.00AM (AEST)
Cost: STA Members $50.00 (+ GST) and $80 (+ GST) Non-Members
