The President of Science & Technology Australia (STA) has been named an Officer of the Order of Australia as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Professor Emma Johnston AO, was recognised for her work in marine ecology and for her contributions to strengthening Australia’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
CEO of STA, Ms Kylie Walker, congratulated Professor Johnston on behalf of the STA membership and the 70,000 scientists and technologists she represented.
“This acknowledgement is well deserved, as Professor Johnston is a bold and thoughtful leader for Science & Technology Australia,” Ms Walker said.
“Not only does she produce leading research in her field, but she is working towards stronger science and technology in Australia.”
