STEM Sector Policy Committee calls for applicants

** APPLICATIONS TO JOIN THIS COMMITTEE HAVE CLOSED **

Science & Technology Australia are seeking candidates to join our STEM Sector Policy Committee, to support the organisation’s policy and advocacy work. Members will serve a term of two years, and are required to participate in monthly Committee meetings and contribute to the formation of policy and advocacy material (a minimum commitment of  three hours a month).

Candidates looking to apply to join the Committee should be a member of, or employed by, a STA member organisation and address the following criteria in no more than two pages:

  1. What boards and committees have you sat on previously?
  2. What is your experience in shaping the strategic focus for a STEM-related organisation, association or society?
  3. What skills and attributes would you bring to assist STA in bridging the gap between science and policy?
  4. What do you hope to achieve for science and technology in Australia?

We strongly encourage applications from Indigenous Australians, people with disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, STEM professionals of all ages and LGBTI people.

The Committee is also designed to broadly represent the make-up of the STEM sector, so to compliment the existing committee membership, STA will be giving special consideration to female candidates; those from the biological, geological, agricultural or computer sciences; private sector STEM professionals; and candidates living and working in WA, SA or QLD.

Be sure to view the Terms of Reference for the Committee and the STA Constitution before applying.
