Our 30 Superstars of STEM have begun their journey towards becoming a new generation of role models for Australian girls and young women.
They have completed their first workshop on “becoming an online influencer”, which was hosted online over three weeks. Developing skills in social media and connecting with people online, the Superstars have begun to expand their profiles and started publishing on social media.
The next workshop, to be held in Melbourne in October, will cover public speaking and storytelling. It will see the Superstars honing the way they speak to people about their work and pass on their passion for science and technology.
As a way to enhance their training, many of the Superstars also attended the SAGE Symposium in Brisbane last week, where Science & Technology Australia delivered a bespoke workshop on communicating like a Superstar.
This workshop was open to all SAGE members and will be the first step towards providing access to high-quality day-long workshops for Australian organisations keen to equip their science, technology, engineering and mathematics professionals with communications skills.
Watch this space to see how STA can help your organisation build a group of Superstars of your own!
